Refuge Membership
Membership Benefits:
- free admission for you during regular open hours for the duration of your membership(365 days from issue date)

- Notification & invitation to attend the Annual General Meeting
- Please note - Memberships are not eligible for a tax receipt as they confer benefits on the bearer
Please Note: free admission does not include special events that are “Admission By Donation” - Special Events are used to fund specific aspects of the Donkey's Care (ie: Hay Day) and we ask that even as a member you make a donation that is comfortable for you at any special fundraising event.
Due to low numbers, we are no longer offering Youth Memberships at this time; existing Youth Memberships will be honoured for one year following the date listed on the card. Minors (18 and under) are welcome to become members, but will not be able to vote in the AGM.
Recent changes to our Society by-laws were passed at the last Annual General Meeting by our members. Relevant changes to membership include: All Members & the public are welcome to attend our Annual General Meeting, but only members with a Voting Membership are able to vote at the AGM. Non-voting members will be eligible to apply for Voting Member status after 3 consecutive years of Membership in good standing. Your 2025 card will note if you are voting or non-voting member at this time.
All annual members in good standing at the time of the 2024 AGM are considered to be voting members unless they allow their membership to lapse. Members will be given a 6-month grace period to renew their membership with the existing benefits (Example: Your card is dated November 7, 2023 - this means your membership expired November 7, 2024. You have 6 months from November 7, 2024 (until May 7, 2024) to renew your membership and keep your existing voting benefits.)
